NOCTURNAL ANIMAL HOUSE
The Kamla Nehru zoological garden is abutting the Kankaria Lake which is a landmark of the city. It is the hub of much social and cultural activity and remains active into the late hours of the evening. Plugging into the catchment, it can become a potential to display nocturnal animals with their natural characteristic behavior.
Location of the park:
This has led the zoo to acquire the 6 acres property adjoining the present zoo at the One-Tree Hill Garden.
Collection Plan of Nocturnal Animal House:
The need to observe certain animal species (nocturnal animals) during night hours led the zoo to acquire land of about 6 acres from across the existing zoo at the One-Tree Hill garden compound.
Nocturnal animals exhibited would include:
Small Cats, Tody Cats, Bats, Porcupines, Leopard, Jackal, Wolf, Hyena and other nocturnal animals.
One Tree Hill Garden :
Name it self indicate one tree on the hill but now this garden is full of trees and so many flower species and loan plots, People are using this garden for yoga, morning evening walk and other social purposes.“ Dutch tomb ” protected monuments are the part of this garden,
One Tree Hill Garden is open for all without any charges.
Timings : 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm
